The Manitoba Live Steamers are
Closed to the Public for 2021
We’re sorry, but are unable to welcome guests. Please stay tuned for updates on how and when we will reopen.
The Manitoba Live Steamers are still going, though like all activities, have had to make some changes due to Provincial COVID-19 restrictions and common sense.
We are still meeting monthly, typically the 2nd Saturday of the month at 1:30 p.m. If you have an interest in the club please contact the President at email@example.com
Welcome to the website of the Manitoba Live Steamers. We are a club of Live Steam enthusiasts and Model Engineers, founded in Winnipeg in 1939, and have been operating continuously for over 80 years.
We build and run scale steam powered locomotives, as well as working stationary engine models. Our club has a track, with all the gauges found in N. America.
Our interest and areas of practice include machining, casting, fabricating, and ranges from more traditional, hand-built, shop methods to modern computer aided CAD, CNC machining, and 3D Printing. Work is done in members’ own shops, but networking and collaboration is a benefit of belonging to the group.
We have been meeting on the second Saturday of the month, with the occasional exception. During the summer months, we don’t hold meetings, but do run locomotives at our track. Every August, we hold a meet that is open to the public. The club is made up of members ranging from nearly novice to highly experienced experts, and all are willing to share their knowledge. The club also has a library of drawings, videos, books, and magazines.
We are again making updates to our website. Please feel free to contact us through email, via firstname.lastname@example.org. Check this website
frequently (no, let’s be honest) infrequently for current information.
